Babington has obtained the EQualities Award for the 3rd time!Posted on: 11/07/2018
We are really proud to announce that we have been awarded the EQualities Award for the third year running.
The EQualities Award is a national scheme aimed at all schools and children’s centres who want to demonstrate their commitment to equality. This is something very important to us at Babington Academy. The award is designed celebrate the outstanding work that already exists schools and children’s centres.
We received the following confirmation on the 11th July 2018 that we had received the award. We are very proud to have been accredited with such an important award.
“We are absolutely delighted to confirm that Babington Academy has successfully obtained the EQualities Award for the 3rd time! Many congratulations, and thank you indeed for all the work and effort you have clearly put into the project over the last 7 years. We loved reading about how the school has continually moved forward to further enhance opportunities for all. The case studies of Roma students are particularly heart-warming.”
Through a process of supported self-evaluation, the award identifies and reviews the many ways in which Babington engenders equality of opportunity and raises outcomes for all learners regardless of gender, disability, faith and ethnicity, sexual identity and socio-economic disadvantage. The promotion of pupils’ spiritual, moral, social and cultural development is a core feature of the audit, which also focuses on safeguarding, bullying and the promotion of fundamental British values.
